About LocalD.com (pronounced local dee, D for Directory of course)
LocalD was founded in 2003, and came about because I was trying to promote my local business online and could not find any places to do it. There were plenty of web directories and search engines for web based businesses, but not so much for the local ones. Even today, there is still no great way to get your name out there if you own a local based business. My vision for LocalD was twofold:
1. Help people looking to find local businesses online
2. Help local business owners get their websites found and increase their clients and revenue
Over the years we have grown and now receive a substantial amount of traffic every day, week, month, year you name it. We have huge numbers. And all that means is it is a great time to list your business with us. In a lot of cases, you might find your competitors are already here.

As far as listing here, there are 2 options you can use to get your website on LocalD.
1. Pay a fee of $24.99. This is a very modest price and covers our fees for running the directory, upgrading the software and hardware, keeping all information secure, and making sure we continue to increase the number of visitors who use this site so that you get even more customers. You can opt out of the renewing fee at any time.
2. Pay no fee, but link back to us on your website instead. This link must be on the home page of your website, no other link pages or any other pages will work. The link must remain active on your website for us to keep your listing with us. You can remove it at any time but that will also remove your listing on our site.
